3. Q1 rice exports earnings climb almost 30%

7. Cambodia’s GFT exports cross $5B in four months

Cambodia’s garments, footwear and travel goods (GFT) exports reached $5.02 billion from January to April 2026, rising 11.26 percent year-on-year, highlighting the sector’s resilience amid global uncertainties. The industry contributed over 45 percent of total export earnings, with strong performance across key categories. Knitted apparel led exports at $2.15 billion, followed by non-knitted clothing at $1.29 billion. Footwear exports grew 13.2 percent to $705 million, while travel goods earned $724 million. 8. Vietnam, Cambodia eye stronger border trade, supply chain connectivity

9. Prince Bank Loans Transferred to Cambodia Post Bank

Cambodia Post Bank (CPBank) has taken over all loan assets from Prince Bank as part of the latter’s liquidation process, approved by the National Bank of Cambodia and effective May 5. Borrowers are required to continue repayments through CPBank. Prince Bank was ordered into liquidation in January 2026 following the arrest of its founder, Chen Zhi, over alleged fraud and cybercrime. The liquidation is being managed by an appointed audit firm. CPBank, established in 2013, has grown into a major commercial bank with over $1.7 billion in assets, expanding its operations and customer base across Cambodia.

10. Azerbaijan eyes expansion of cooperation with Cambodia in agriculture, tourism, and trade🇦🇿

Azerbaijan has expressed interest in strengthening economic cooperation with Cambodia, focusing on agriculture, tourism, and trade. The proposal was discussed during a meeting between Azerbaijan’s presidential representative Elchin Amirbayov and Cambodia’s Acting Head of State, Hun Sen.
